Shells at the beach

Shells at the shores edge

Went to Chippokes State Park in Surry, Virginia. I chose this composition because on the waters edge saw interesting magnification of the shells/rocks and saw details of their texture through the lapping water. I sat in a beach chair and peered down into the water. I just wanted to get the shapes down on paper and then concentrate on texture or color later. There was no later. Like most of my sketches I leave and never get to finish them.
